What does it mean to choose a small company like 3Bidz.com to replace your windows?

Choosing a small company to replace your windows means you can save money by working with a low sales pressure team of professionals. Your replacement window price can actually be 10-25% lower than with a large company that has to pay overhead, stockholders or high-dollar CEOs. And, by marking up prices and then discounting them at high rates, some larger companies deceptively make it seem like you are getting a good deal while they still make a high profit!

3Bidz.com Windows offers you 3 free quotes on 3 different grades of windows. You choose the best option for your home and your budget. And, we install the windows with only manufacturer licensed installers so you’ll be assured a professional and accurate installation of your new windows.

Working with a smaller company is often the right choice when you’re renovating. Be sure to use only BBB rated companies (3Bidz.com has an “A” rating) to work on your home.

EPA Lead-Safe Certification

What does it mean to be lead-safe certified? Do you need to have a company that is EPA lead-safe certified? 3BIDZ has partnered with Alside – a company whose employees are EPA lead-safe certified. We also have independent contractors we use who are EPA lead-safe certified.

If you have a home or building built before 1978 there is a good chance there is lead in the paint or pipes used when the building was built. What does this mean to you? Lead is proven to have serious health risks. Children are more susceptible to the problems of lead poisoning because they are more likely to ingest lead dust. Lead affects the human brain, nervous systems, adult reproduction, high blood pressure, memory, and muscle and joint problems. You can read more about what the government says about the dangers of lead by going to http://www.epa.gov/opptintr/lead/pubs/leadinfo.htm.

Fiber Cement vs. Vinyl Siding

What to choose – vinyl siding or fiber cement siding. Sometimes choosing between the two can be tricky, but we’re here to give you an unbiased account of the pros and cons of both.

Cost: In general, vinyl siding costs less than fiber cement siding.

Return on investment: Home sellers get an average of 98% return on their investment with fiber cement siding and 92% return with vinyl siding.

R-Factor: Vinyl siding comes attached to insulation and adds an R-factor of 5 to your existing outer walls. Fiber cement siding (without insulation) add up to 0.15. Add the insulation to the fiber cement and your R-factor will increase by at least 3.

Looks: Both products can look like real wood, but subjectively, more people seem to prefer the look of fiber cement.

Homeowners Associations: Old vinyl siding has kind of a bad wrap so some HOAs do not allow it (they used to droop and sag). Biases against fiber cement siding are not common. You will need to check with your HOA before purchasing either type.
